Rowan Devereux – Group Chairperson
Rowan is Managing Director and founder of Roznat Investments Ltd a privately held investment company that specialises in angel and early stage tech start up funding.
Prior to forming Roznat, Rowan was an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist in 2011, as the Co Founder of multiple award winning Blue Insurances Ltd, which created brands such as Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance, Gadget Insurance and Car Hire Excess Insurance which he subsequently successfully exited from in 2013.
As an Angel Investor Roznat has investments in a wide variety areas covering SAAS, Video, Voice, Marketplace, Pharma, Distribution, and Social Media, both here in Ireland and further afield in the UK, USA, Middle East and Australia. Rowan is co-founder of Complyfile.com SAAS software company specialising in the volunteer recruitment compliance sector, he is also an Executive Director of Voice Engineers Ireland, a Director of PSI Pneumatics UK, and a Director or Horsescout Holdings a UK based Global Equine Network. He also serves as a board adviser to Urbanise.com an Australian PLC in the facilities management sector.
Rowan is also the main investor and on the founding team of FanFootage.com (EI HPSU 2012). Fanfootage is a crowd sourced media content delivery platform, that enables organisations, artists, bands, and sporting franchise holders, to collate and effectively harness all the fan shot video from their event.
Anthony Bermingham, formerly CEO of LAKE Communications, a technology company specialising in the development, marketing and supply of IP voice/data networking products. LAKE distributed its products through major telecoms operators and major product companies worldwide including BT in the UK and Inter-Tel, now Mitel, in the US. LAKE was sold to Inter-Tel in 2005. Founder and CEO of two IT service related businesses based in London. One sold to management and the other to a UK listed Company. Founding Director of a Trinity College medical device spin out company and also Founder of an educational non-governmental organization NGO (not for profit) based in Nepal. Currently involved in advising on the commercialization of University IP and how academia and industry can better collaborate.
David has over 25 years experience in the software and financial services industries, both in Europe and the U.S.A. He has experienced four successful “exits”, two as CEO. Most recently, as CEO of ChangingWorlds, David helped to drive the growth and successful international expansion of the company. This ultimately led to the company being acquired by Amdocs. David was then appointed to the role of President, Digital Services Division within Amdocs. This group had a global remit with over 600 team members and drove over $400m in annual revenue. Over a period of 19 years in the U.S., David held executive positions with Morgan Stanley(New York), Prism Solutions (Silicon Valley), Insight Venture Partners (New York) and MediaBin (Atlanta). Now operating as an investor and advisor on strategy and business development in the technology sector. David is also a co-Founder of Relevenz, a startup which has developed a unique content filtering capability which will disrupt the mobile advertising sector, by delivering relevant content to consumers based on context, time and location ( with a specific emphasis on future location). Founded the Sharptext Group and built it organically and by acquisition into a leading European IT distributor operating in the UK, Ireland and Southern Europe. Also founded GFK Technology, an accountancy software vendor to the SMB market. Now operating as an investor and business development advisor in the technology sector. Recent investments include the Cara Group, a VAR and vendor of HR software and Deecal, a commercial credit card software vendor. Both were successfully developed and acquired by international trade buyers. Current technology investments include an international cloud computing infrastructure company. Qualifications include a M.Sc. in computer science from Trinity College Dublin.
Has worked in ICT since 1996 building marketing, R&D and finance teams to deliver leading brands into the education sector across the UK and Ireland. He is currently founder and CEO of SAMI which have operations in Dublin and Belfast and in 2010 won the Deloitte Fast 50 award. Dualta has made several investment in early stage technology firms and is actively engaged in the start-up and angel investment community.
Stephen has worked in finance, insurance & IT industries since 1995 and spent most of this time at director level.
One of the companies Stephen founded was Spike Technology which was a leading company in Ireland specialising in IT solutions for the insurance intermediary market before a successful exit in 2010. Now active in investing in early stage companies, such as Gabriel Scientific who won the overall 2012 Irish Times innovation awards.
